Summer of Indie's latest guest author is Steven Greenberg, here with us to talk about his dystopian novel, Enfold Me. "I am a professional writer and an Israeli. I am also a full-time cook, cleaner, chauffeur, and work-at-home Dad for three amazing young children, and the lucky husband of a loving and very supportive wife.

Born in Texas in 1967 and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, I emigrated to Israel only months before the first Gulf War, following my graduation from Indiana University in 1990. In 1996, I was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces, where I served for 12 years as a Reserves Combat Medic. Since 2002, I’ve worked as an independent marketing writer, copywriter and consultant."

Summer of Indie Discovers "A Spy At Home" With Joseph Rinaldo

Today's Summer of Indie guest is contemporary author Joseph M. Rinaldo. We spoke with Joseph about two of his books: A Spy At Home,  a thrilling novel about a former CIA agent who steals millions of dollars from the government but is later met with personal tragedy, and Hazardous Choices, which tells the story of a young man who tries to escape his future as a Chicago gang member by accepting a football scholarship to a small college.

Hazardous Choices

After surviving life in a violent Chicago street gang through his high school years, Darnell Jackson’s future appears promising. A football scholarship gives him the chance to escape the thug lifestyle.

During his first year in college, Darnell safely resides in a small Kentucky town, playing Division Two college football and trying to make something of himself. Adjusting to the new surroundings proves tough, but a teammate and a girl give him hope that his future will be better than his past.

In the summer after his freshman year, he returns to the old neighborhood to be with his mother. The gang reasserts its hold on him, and the leader orders Darnell to kill a member of a rival gang. Nearly dying in a gang fight, Darnell shoots an enemy gangbanger. This forces Darnell to re-evaluate his future. As a result, he lies to the mercurial leader of his gang, claiming he completed his assignment. After “doing work” for his gang, Darnell receives permission to head back to school and the security of small-town life.

When the head gangbanger learns of Darnell’s lie, the small Kentucky town isn’t so safe anymore.

Summer of Indie Talks to Ashley Fontainne

Our next guest is suspense and thriller author Ashley Fontainne, whose greatest joy is making "a reader stay up until their eyes rebel and finally close while reading my books!". Author Ashley Fontainne met with Summer of Indie to talk with us about the gripping first two books in her Eviscerating the Snake Series.

We asked author Ashley Fontainne to tell us about the thrilling revenge story of Accountable to None, and Zero Balance.

Accountable to None:

Summer of Indie's next author is Allison Bruning. Allison Bruning is the author of Calico. Calico is a historical fiction, romance, and suspense novel, and it is the first book in the Children of the Shawnee series.

We asked author Allison Bruning to give us a closer look at her book:

Her educational background includes a BA in Theatre Arts with a minor in Anthropology and a Texas Elementary Teaching certificate. Both acquired at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. She received National Honor Society memberships in both Theatre Arts and Communication. Allison was also honored her sophomore year with admission into the All American Scholars register. She holds graduate hours in Cultural Anthropology and Education. In 2007 she was named Who's Who Among America's Educators. She is also the recipient of the Girl Scout Silver and Gold Awards.
